Review -BST Stevie Wonder ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’

Date night was in full effect last week as we headed to London to see Stevie Wonder perform his Songs In The Of Life album at Hyde Park as part of the British Summer Time events.

We had a very wet departure on Saturday morning as we left Nottingham but as we pulled into a sunny St Pancras it was smiles all round.

We headed out early Sunday lunch time and had a nightmare journey in! The DLR wasn’t running, the replacement buses were held up in traffic, we had to wait at Bank for our connecting tube as they were so packed, then as we hit Hyde Park we went to the wrong entrance.

After all the trauma we entered the park decided to stay near the food and drink stalls to the left of the stage with space to sit if we wanted to.

We had a great afternoon listening to Corrine Bailey Rae, dancing to Pharrell and chilling in the sun waiting for the man himself.

It was a pleasant surprise to find the food and drink was really reasonable and we were also able to access free drinking water really easy which was fab because it was super hot.

Stevie was amazing, I was an emotional mess. Chris was right beside me boogeying and singing away, at times the sound was terrible but mostly it was just amazing.

Towards the end we had the most amazing moment dancing and singing along to Another Star it was a crazy feeling being surrounded by 60,000 people all singing and dancing.

I’d highly recommend it for a day out together in the sun.
